What it does

This cron job class collects and reports store catalog statistics (total products, configurable products, active products, and categories) to New Relic for monitoring purposes.

Developers would use this to track catalog growth and changes over time in New Relic's performance monitoring dashboard when the New Relic integration is enabled.
