What it does

This model class retrieves the custom robots.txt content configured in Magento's admin panel.

Developers use this class when they need to programmatically access the robots.txt instructions that store owners have defined under Design > Configuration > Search Engine Robots settings, typically for rendering or processing the robots.txt file.
