Admin grids look like HTML forms. They are UI Components.

You've probably opened an admin grid's XML file expecting a template and found a component tree instead, with attributes pointing at classes you haven't seen.

That's because Magento's admin runs on a different rendering engine than the storefront: UI Components, wired through XML that declares data providers, columns, and listeners instead of markup. One tag in the wrong place breaks the whole grid, silently.

This course builds a custom grid and form from the UI Component XML up.

The data provider first, then columns and filters, then the form's fieldsets and data sources, then mass actions. Each lesson ends with a grid or form you can click through in your own admin.

This is advanced development, step 3. The Art of GraphQL in Magento 2 is next, because building custom admin tools is also where a headless API story starts to matter. It is also included in the University.

You leave with a custom grid and form you built from the XML up, and a reason for every attribute in them.
